to your body
Come Home: Mind Body Alignment is a full-body somatic experience combining yoga, shibari and sound healing to bring you a holistic experience that combines ancient practices from across cultures in a powerful experience.
Your ticket includes 5 hours of practice each day, a care package to take home, 2 nourishing lunches & refreshments
Shibari is the Japanese art of binding, used here as a self-tying practice. The restrictiveness of the ropes on the body not only creates a tangible grounding presence, but the act of tying knots can get meditative with repetition.
By using the ropes to self-tie, we sharpen our skill to notice our senses and our body at a higher level of attunement. In its very essence, the restrictiveness of the ropes activates emotional responses in the body, the momentum at which we tie ourselves leaves room for exploration of our own body. This is a practice for those that want a solid anchor that reminds them that this body of theirs is where the human experience happens.
Combined with India’s famed yoga, the practice of union between mind and body, we use this ancient art to transition from the stressful world outside, to tap into the home that lives within us. We prepare the body by preparing the mind. Bringing in Tibet’s sound bowls and native drums, we use these powerful tools to close the practice on the last day, giving space for what needs to be integrated and what needs to be released. This practice works well for those transitioning from a period in their life, for those that are starting a new chapter, or those that simply need a space to be.
